27 Oct 2025, 12:00 – 15:00

HILLS Arts Centre , Waterloo Pl, Sunderland SR1 3HT, UK

About the event

Learn how to make and use natural inks in this creative, hands-on workshop! Explore local wildflowers and use your handmade inks to draw and paint plants found around Sunderland, from Blue moor-grass and Lady’s bedstraw to orchids and brambles.

No experience is needed, just curiosity and creativity!

Following the workshop, your ink flower paintings will be arranged with curator Rory Williams as part of the Heritage Lottery Final Exhibition, celebrating local landscapes and community heritage.

The works created in these sessions will be shown alongside pieces made throughout the project’s history, a celebration of creativity, landscape, and shared heritage. Learn about exhibition curation and take part in presenting your work to the public.
