About the event

Join us for a visit to the historic Elephant Tea Rooms, a Grade II listed building in Sunderland. Learn about its rich history, from its construction between 1872 and 1877 in a blend of Hindu Gothic and Venetian Gothic styles, to its role as a tea merchant's exotic selling point. We'll also explore the building's recent regeneration and its current function as the Local History Library. This workshop offers a fascinating glimpse into Sunderland's architectural heritage and the ongoing efforts to preserve and repurpose historic sites.
